Oak Table is somewhere I come to get nourishment, and not just the kind you get from food. I get my nourishment from talking to all my friends, and by making new friends. This is a place where I feel safe and everyone is very well behaved.

Oak Table Art Volunteers showed me how I could express myself through art. I never saw myself as artist before coming here, but now I do. I couldn’t afford to buy the art supplies so it’s nice to have a place where I don’t have to worry about how I can afford it. The supplies are here for us to use.

I’ve been coming to Oak Table since there were just a few people sitting around a table sharing a cup of coffee. It’s way bigger than that now, but it still has that same feeling. People are very nice here. Everyone is treated with respect.

Oak Table is the place I learned how to journal. That helped me deal with the grief and anger I felt after my wife died.

My life fell apart because of depression. I lost my job, my home and my family. Oak Table gave me a place to come and connect with others. After coming here for awhile I feel like I can begin to give back. I have things to offer and this is a safe place to slowly gain my confidence again.
